On this tour you will discover the picturesque Elstertal. You follow the course of the White Elster, look at gently swaying water, hike sometimes high up, sometimes directly on the banks of the river, and enjoy wonderful views. Those who love nature are really in good hands here! Your hike starts at the train station in Berga. You will soon reach your first highlight, the “Am böse Stein” viewpoint. His name sounds more dangerous than it is, as the small rock reveals a wonderful view of the valley to you.A little later you hike along the tracks of the Elstertalbahn until you reach the bank of the White Elster and then the rocky Zehnmarkweg. Rock walls pile up next to you, on the other side you can enjoy a beautiful view of the valley - really spectacular! We continue to Geyer-Stein and a little later to the quarry on Hüttchenberg. Its glowing orange rock face welcomes you from afar. After an extensive exploration, you continue to hike relaxed to Wünschendorf. If your stomach is rumbling, a stop at the "Zum Klosterhof" inn is recommended. From Wünschendorf it is now on the other side above the valley back to the starting point. If your legs are tired, you can consider taking the train back to Berga. In both cases you can enjoy wonderful views again - either walking or sitting. An advantage for hikers back: You can stop at the Clodramühle about two and a half kilometers before Berga and buy delicious, homemade organic sheep's cheese. If that's not an argument!
