Wow, I say ..... 🤩 On Saturday morning, the front wheel of the oldie MTB was converted to studded tires. The MTB was as happy as a schnitzel that there was new footwear with 361 claws at the front 👞😁 since the last trips were partly a fiddle on the dirt roads 😂 The recommendation from the manufacturer to run the spike tires about 40 - 50 km on asphalt, I had to implement immediately this afternoon. I don't want to put anything on the back burner 😉 and the weather should soon thaw the snow 💦 Tire inflated to 2.3 bar low pressure and off we went on the road. But instead of asphalt, it was first on the uncleared cycle path towards Tegernbach. OK, the 1st spike test is already on 😉 I took the bike path and didn't switch to the street. Temperatures were + 1 degrees, but the west wind felt - 5 degrees ❄️😨A highlight was ... now I've seen a tractor with a sledge, a horse with a sledge, an SUV with a sledge, dad or mom with a sledge 😁 and today with the wind a snowkiter with a snowboard around the corner from me and in Jesenwang a snowkiter with skis. Is there anything else? I can't think of anything to top it off as a leisure activity! ⛄️⛷🏂❄️🤩After 53 km (spikes are now retracted) we went into the dirt roads near Sirchenried. The spikes have to show their quality! And I was not disappointed 🤩It was a pleasure to see how the front wheel plows straight through the snow and ice surfaces without any deflections. My rear wheel had a lot more problems with the grip, which was shown by repeated sideways breaking or simply slipping through in the snow. I'm thinking about converting the rear as well. Hopefully the winter is still a little bit longer and I'm usually only off-road with my MTB 🚴♂️The paths in the prairie outside were very rough, a fully would be great, so I was really shaken. But that's the way it is, because those who hold onto their old MTB hold on 😉 always have to open their mouths slightly, otherwise their teeth will clatter 🤣Summary: Good decision to have converted to spikes, now the fun outside has been increased again. Of course, it would also be better at the back, because I'm close to placing an order 😁🙂🚴♂️
Alex today it was borderline for me too 🥶 even with my thick ski gloves and boots and my face extremely cold from the wind 🥶❄️💨 But the ambition convinced the bastard 🤣 to pull this off 🙋♂️
Great tour Lucody, I think you enjoyed your great spikes. I would order one, from the 23rd it should snow again. And you also captured beautiful pictures.
All attention !! In the cold and the road conditions ... You have your principles and now you have great spikes 👍👍 Still have a good trip I also tend to be out and about in warmer weather 🌞😀
Thank you suny and Andreas J., I also like to ride in the sun ☀️ then stop with a racing bike, which runs a bit easier and then you can wind down more kilometers 🙂👍 but now in winter I have to ride my bike every now and then 🚴♂️ then the paths into the fields are very quiet and I like that very much. Now even more with spikes.Yes, there are probably also spikes on the back suny 😉🤩
Couldn't see your grin on your face, but the text suggests that you haven't regretted the purchase decision. I would have been annoyed if my tip had gone wrong. Especially with frozen snow and icy plates or also, not too deep ruts, just great to drive. Now one more on HR and a chain on VR, the all-wheel drive is ready. Then maybe it will work with the ski jumping hill. 😜
Class💪💪💪 round. So far I only know positive reactions from spike drivers. So far, it has not been enough to test it, as I rarely need it in the city. But it would be attractive for everything out of town
Thank you oidawolf and Klaus 🤣 Yes, the grin was always inside because oidawolf 😁 externally grinning it was too cold for me 🥶 and windy when the flap is permanently open 🤩 your tip was spot on 👏 the four-wheel drive will be available shortly, just have to look 👀 how I connect the chain to the front 😁 Then I practice climbing it on the small hill with us 🤣Klaus, the spikes are now virtually the snow chain for the bike 🤩
NiTe, that's right with the spikes! 😁 If you have ever ridden in snow or ice with it, it will give you such confidence after a short time that cycling will be a pleasure again in winter 🤗 The internal cramping on an unwanted ice sheet under the snow and smearing away is gone! I know quite a few from Munich who cycle to work every day and therefore have spikes on them to prevent unwanted ground contact 😥! 😁

You really can't be stopped.
The only thing missing is that you also try out snow chains! 😂
Have fun with your spikes! 👍
