In the past few days I had hardly seen any snow here in Würzburg. But when I started my hike in the forest today, I was a bit surprised to discover some remains of it here. Unfortunately, it was mostly trodden snow, which in the meantime either formed a mirror-like surface or a collection of treacherous, smooth footprints along the way. So today I slid through the forest with little elegance ;-)It started in the slippery Steinbachtal. At the end of the long valley, the road branched off to the industrial area of Höchberg. The path led quickly through and along the first row of houses in the village. Then the local connection road between Höchberg and the Frankenwarte was reached. Unfortunately there was a lot of traffic here: both cars and cyclists as well as countless hikers and walkers.Shortly before the pretty tower of the Frankenwarte my camera spontaneously refused to work. Stupid thing! Black screen and only the menu button worked. Unfortunately, I couldn't solve the problem :-( Mainly because of my freezing fingers. By the way, at home it worked again by itself ... grrr!So I continued with the cell phone, which unfortunately can only partially meet my photographic requirements. The path continued through the park forest and past the large playground to Käppele with its wonderful view over Würzburg. Fortunately, the steps on one side of the Way of the Cross were cleared so that I could safely go down the countless steps.Past the Löwenbrücke, the starting point in the Steinbachtal was soon reached again ... and another 11.5km on the account of the virtual Jakobsweg, which I am currently walking with Shelly from Weltenspatz. You can find out more about this at hinter-dem-horizont.com
