On this 57-kilometer circuit you can explore the Hanseatic cities of Zutphen and Doesburg. The journey through the two cities is like traveling back in time along Gothic facades, historic merchants' houses and old quays.

The beautiful bike tour takes you from Zutphen along the IJssel south to Doesburg. In this Hanseatic city there is an invitation to a cultural Sunday once a month. Then you can visit a selection of professional artist studios, renowned galleries, antique dealers and museums for free. In Doesburg you also have your mustard with it: for example in Doesburg's mustard soup, which is offered in many variations in the city's restaurants.

On the way back to Zutphen you cycle through the charming town of Bronkhorst. It is one of the oldest towns in the Netherlands and is ideal for a short stopover. Then the bike tour continues through the river meadows back to the starting point of Zutphen, which is also known as the tower city, because several towers shape the skyline of this Hanseatic city. Here you can end the day with a visit to the recently opened Hof van Heeckeren museum or a shopping tour in the historic city center.
