9/365Getting up in the morning at 5:30 a.m. is hard, very hard, but in order to be on the 6:34 a.m. train to Mittenwald in time, it is necessary, especially if the forecast for Mittenwald is dream weather with -4 ° C and 8 hours of sunshine. On the drive over Munich we saw a beautiful sunrise and drove past Klais with a beautiful view of the humpback meadows, which were used as a cross-country skiing and tobogganing paradise. But there wasn't much going on and no police could be seen, as was spread in the pictures of the media yesterday. The only police that drove past in town gave a friendly greeting instead of checking. The people made their rounds lonely, the children happily sledged down the slopes. Since we were only going on foot and had decided to go to Mittenwald, we had to forego tobogganing, but decided to come back to Klais in the next few weeks and then use the humpback meadows! When they arrived in Mittenwald, the children were absolutely thrilled with the place and a surprising number of shops were open for such a small town, even the "souvenir" shops, because they also sell honey and liqueur - staple foods. * ggg *Coffee2Go and bakeries, as well as food from my favorite shop, the "Mittenwalder Käs-Alm", which I have known since crossing the Karwendel in 1992, was taken care of. You could play football with a block of ice on the empty main street. There was nothing to be seen of the masses of tourists in the snow castles. Our hike took us to the Laintal, where the temperature was around -10 ° C. The waterfall was already half frozen and was a wonderful sight. Then the round went through the less touristy parts of Mittenwald, past the railway embankment, which was then still offered to slide down with the Popo slide. The children exhausted themselves for another half an hour. With a quick step we went back to the train and shortly before the sun went down back to Munich via Munich.Dream place and really a beautiful, sunny day.
