Yes, unfortunately there is no snow at 260 m above sea level, but 30 km further towards Winterberg there is nice snow.

The tour up to the cross above Elkeringhausen was the icing on the cake, I personally didn't find the Orketal particularly interesting in the section towards Medelon at this time of the year. I will explore the Orketal again by bike in the spring.
