The tour starts spectacularly right at the start. The Frankenweg leads about two kilometers from the hiking car park in Zultenberg over the Görauer Anger ridge with a panoramic view of the Franconian Forest over Kulmbach to the Fichtelgebirge. Have you seen enough? Then it goes on straight away. You follow the Görauer Weg over fields, meadows and through small wooded areas to Bärental. Shortly before entering the valley, you switch to the Bärental circular route. The valley is repeatedly interrupted by rugged rock formations and shady places invite you to picnic along the Krassach. With a little luck, the Herbstmühle will open and you can refresh yourself with chilled drinks before the ascent to Neudorf follows. From the Herbstmühle you follow the Obermain horseshoe to the Niesen castle ruins. Today you will only find a few remains of the castle complex here, but it is a great place for a picnic or to enjoy the view. Go over the Jura heights back to Zultenberg. At the end you hike again along the Görauer Anger. The Anger has the potential to become a real favorite!
