We will hike stages 8 and 9 in 3 days. In the winter weather you can't take long breaks, so 14 and 16 km are too far for us. So today is the first part of the 8th stage. In pouring rain we drove off with 2 cars. At the start it stopped raining and we had wonderful foresight. Never thought this piece would be so interesting to hike. A shower caught us shortly before the shelter. After that we could even admire a rainbow. In between there were large areas of soggy wall floor. There were only 3 options - swim - fly - or wade through. We did it with the 3rd. The day was fun again!

From Wellerode to Dörnhagen is one of the most beautiful parts of the Kassel-Steig. Standing in front of the Söhre and looking at Kassel is simply wonderful.
