Cardwell to Cairns sec 71

I HAVE REACHED THE FINISH OF THE SECOND LEG OF MY JOURNEY.

Yesterday evening I wanted to make at least another 48 km to the next motel. It showed a reasonable price on Booking.com. But when I put in that I wanted my own bathroom, the price went up by 40 Euro. I decided to look in Cardwell for accommodation and I found a suitable one for the right price.
It even had a kitchen for the guests.
In the evening there was a delicious scent coming from the kitchen. I followed the scent and met a young lady who was preparing her dinner. We talked for quite some time. Then I had to go to bed because I had plans to go non stop to Cairns today.
At 4.30 I got ready. When I had packed my bike and opened the main door I recognized a young Wallaby in front of the door. It was standing there for a few minutes looking into the head light of the bike (pix).
At 5.45 I was at the local bakery and had a good breakfast. With the first light I took a picture outside the bakery and started my journey. On my way out of town I passed a property that was full of kangaroos and wallabies (pix).
The first sun in the morning produced some interesting lighting (pix).
After 50 km I came to a town with a display showing the development of sugar cane transport (pix).
During the day the temperatures rose up to 29 deg C. With the moisture from the rain yesterday it got very humid. Pretty intense today.
