Stage 5: Henley-in-Arden to Bidford on Avon — Heart of England Way
Dan Hobson planned a hike.

You explore fine Warwickshire countryside dotted with ancient woodlands, historic buildings and Roman towns on this stage.
Hike west through fields from Henley-in-Arden and rise through Bannam's Wood, a remnant of the ancient woodland that once covered this part of the country.
The trail then heads south over Round Hill, cuts west through woodland on Lodge Hill, skirts around Alne Wood and continues through farmland.
Upon reaching Alcester, it is worth taking some time to explore the town. Founded in Roman times and with many medieval buildings, there is much to see. There is ample opportunity for a pit-stop, too.
Green lanes lead to Wixton, where you find a pretty 12th-century church in peaceful countryside. Here, you join the River Arrow briefly, cut through Broom village and finish in Bidford on Avon a short step later.
Within the village you find a couple of places to stay and plenty of places for food and drink.
