A spectacular fjord panorama awaits you on the plateau of Preikestolen near Starvanger. This short day tour takes you from Preikestolhytta, reachable by car, to the Preikestolen and back again.
Start is the well-developed Preikestolhytta on Revsvatnet. Despite the short distance you should wear sturdy…
One of the most beautiful views I have ever experienced. The hike is really exhausting, but you will be rewarded incredibly for this effort.
My tip, start at 5 o'clock in the morning, so that one is as far as possible alone on the plateau.
I have been there a few times .... I would do it again and again ..... dreamlike
Completely overrun by hordes of tourists from all countries. Exhausting up and down. Everyone is literally racing upwards. Surefootedness is essential. But you will be rewarded with an incredible panorama above.
We were last there in 2011. Fortunately, back then only outside the main season, in mid-September. So we had the dreamlike, albeit difficult, ascent and descent to ourselves, like almost all of our destinations in wonderful Norway at the time. Almost nothing was going on at the Preikestolen destination…
A great experience and great views, unfortunately my ascent ended 500m before the plateau because a serious accident happened above.
In any case, I'll try again on my next vacation in Norway
In the evening with a light tent upstairs, spend the night there and enjoy the sunrise alone, you can hardly feel more free and you have the sermon chair to yourself.
But even during the day you can find a place a little off the beaten track to enjoy the vastness and the fjord.
