On your tour you can expect a wonderful hike through the forest and along the partly calm and sometimes wildly flowing Great Rain. You can start comfortably at your accommodation, the Waldhotel Seebachschleife, and reach the first highlight after just a few minutes. The watermill is still a relic from times when the drift was necessary for the transport of wood from the valley. A great resting place a little later is ideal for a first drinking break. Take a seat on the bench and watch the rain bubbling happily. At 22 kilometers, it is the longest river in the Bavarian Forest. Its two source rivers, the Big and the Little Rain, arise on the Bohemian side and unite in Zwiesel to form the Black Rain.

A short rest is also good because you can collect your resources here again. From now on it's steadily uphill. But you won't even notice because you are hiking through wonderfully natural and rustic forests. The big rain is your constant companion. Maples, alders, willows and hazel bushes cover the path with their green canopy of leaves and provide pleasant shade.

When you have reached 860 meters, the highest point of your tour, from now on it goes happily downhill until you reach the Trifterklause Schwellhäusl. The inn is a popular destination in the land of the Arber. Bavarian snacks, hearty lunches, coffee, cakes and tarts await you here, as well as a trout pond, an adventure playground and a petting zoo.
Make yourself comfortable in the cozy beer garden or the rustic dining room and try a "Beer from the Stoa", the Trifter dark beer. Good luck! Your hotel is not far away from here.
