At 1,384 meters, the Kleine Arber is the highest mountain in the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park and is only a few kilometers away from the King of the Bavarian Forest, the Großer Arber. It is also made of gneiss. There is a handsome wooden cross on its summit, which is perfect for a summit selfie. After you have entered yourself in the summit book, you can enjoy the wonderful view over the Lamer Winkel between the mountains Hoher Bogen, Osser, Arber and Kaitersberg to the Zellertal.

On the Kleine Arber, numerous hiking trails lead from Bodenmais, from the Kleiner Arbersee or from Schareben, among others. You choose the path that starts from the Kleiner Arbersee and here you can already enjoy an overwhelming view of this natural lake, equipped with small islands and surrounded by dense forest. From here the ascent to the summit begins. You will conquer a total of 580 meters in altitude - easy to master with good fitness.

Below the summit, the Chamer Hütte entices you to stop. Alternatively, you can stop off at the Seehäusl after the descent. The beer and the snack taste very good in any case, because you can enjoy a great view from both places. If you prefer it a little quieter and more lonely, you are better off here than on the Großer Arber.

On really hot days you can take a dip in the water at the lake. Since you need about five hours for the tour, at least one comfortable sunbath is enough. Happy and satisfied you go back to the beautiful Waldhotel by bus after a beautiful day in nature.
