Many highlights await you on this circular hike: You start at the valley station of the Arber gondola, which you can reach from the Bachhuber apartment by car in around 40 minutes. And immediately the summit storm begins to climb the mountain with a great view. Between forest and meadows you climb up to the summit plateau of the Großer Arber, where not only unbelievable views, but also two cozy huts await you: whether you prefer to stay in the modern Eisensteiner hut or in the traditional Arberschutzhaus is entirely up to you.High up at over 1,400 meters, the Bavarian Forest National Park lies at your feet and a detour to the wooden Arber Chapel is really worthwhile. From the Großer Arber, it's a little way back down the same route into the valley. At the intersection, keep left and walk to the Kleiner Arbersee, a real gem in the Bavarian Forest. You can either hike once around the idyllic lake or treat yourself to a coffee break in the rustic Seehäusl.Then it goes on flat paths to the Mooshütte, another refreshment stop. Via the village of Brennes and past the Thurnhof ski lift, you walk back to the valley station of the Arber gondola, your starting point.
