Rundwanderung Ilztal & Schrottenbaummühle – Bachhubers Lieblingstouren
Ferienwohnung Bachhuber planned a hike.
December 6, 2020
The hike through the upper Ilz Valley starts at the scrap tree mill, which you can reach in 25 minutes by car from your accommodation. The inn invites you to take a break with Bavarian specialties before or after your hike. Past the hydroelectric power station, you walk directly to the banks of the Ilz. This section is one of the few remaining wild river stretches in Germany and a true hiking paradise in the Bavarian Forest. On flat paths it goes along the water through the Ilzleiten. You will meet fishermen fishing for trout and paddlers rushing past in their canoes. The narrow forest path continues along the Ilz, which flows sometimes narrower sometimes wider through the valley. At the tailor's mill you finally cross the river and follow the path on the other side of the bank back to the scrap tree mill.In the middle of the forest you will first pass a large wooden cross and a little later the Lueger Chapel. At the small chapel there is a table and benches for a break. Following the natural course of the Ilz, you hike back to the starting point, where the garden of the scrap tree mill is already waiting for you.
