On this twelve-kilometer hike you climb the Himmelsleiter to a fantastic panorama. Sounds tempting, doesn't it? You can enjoy the view from the 1,373 meter high Lusen, with good visibility you can even see as far as the Alpine ridge. The circular hike starts at the Fredenbrücke bus stop, the Igelbus will take you there. If you are traveling with your own car, you will also find a parking space next to the bus stop. The first third of the hike is a steep uphill climb, and finally 520 meters of altitude must be earned. You will be accompanied by a dreamlike landscape on your way up to the Lusen. You walk past the Teufelsloch, cross the Lusener Moor on an exciting boardwalk and soon you will reach the Glass Ark. The ladder to heaven begins at this work of art and takes you on a dead straight path up to the summit.According to legend, the devil himself is said to have been involved in the creation of the mountain. If so, then he did it well: The view is fantastic and the stone sea with all the flat, moss-covered stones is just magical. Time for a break in which you can thoroughly enjoy all of this. Not far from the summit is the Lusen shelter, where you can strengthen yourself. On a beautiful hiking trail it goes downhill through the Bavarian Forest Nature Park, past other rock formations and the Martinsklause. You will then reach the starting point of the hike again faster than you would like.
