Rundwanderung Großer Arber – Haus Hollerbuschs Lieblingstouren
Haus Hollerbusch planned a hike.
December 2, 2020
On this unforgettable hike, one highlight follows the next: you start at the Großer Arbersee, which you can reach from Haus Hollerbusch by car in around 20 minutes. Alternatively, you can also travel by bus, but you have to change twice. The ascent to the Großer Arber begins with a view of the dark blue water of the Großer Arbersee. First, it goes steadily uphill through the forest - you will pass shelters and benches that invite you to take a break. You cross the Kleine Deffernik and then turn sharply right twice to get to the lookout point at Mittagsplatzl. At the summit there is a small cross from which you can look down to the Großer Arbersee and across to the Czech Republic. After you have soaked up the panorama, you continue to follow the tour uphill. Via the alpine meadows of the Bodenmaiser Mulde you reach the summit plateau of the Großer Arber, on which several viewpoints await you. At 1,451 meters, the Großer Arber is the second highest mountain in the Bavarian Forest National Park. The wooden Arber chapel, which is somewhat hidden on a rock wall, is a worthwhile detour. Then you are spoiled for choice: would you prefer to stop off at the Eisensteiner Hütte or the Arberschutzhaus? After a well-deserved break, it goes down to the stable bar, another point with foresight. Following the Arberweg, you hike back into the valley on the banks of the Arbersee. At the end of your hike, you can try your way through the Arberseehaus menu.
