Hiking Highlight (Segment)
Haus Hollerbusch planned a hike.

The starting point of this wonderful circular hike is at the parking lot in front of the Waldgasthof zum Falkenstein. The journey from Haus Hollerbusch by car takes about 15 minutes, alternatively you can also reach the start by public buses. At the beginning you follow the Schillerweg deep into the wild and romantic forest and a short time later turn onto the Adamweg. Following the path, you penetrate into the core area of the Bavarian Forest National Park and climb steadily uphill. You reach the first grandiose vantage point on the Kleiner Falkenstein. From the rock plateau at 1,190 meters you can see the primeval mixed forests, which are an important habitat for rare birds such as falcons and ravens. The highlight, in the truest sense of the word, of this hike awaits you on the Großer Falkenstein: the highest point at 1,315 meters is marked by a wrought-iron summit cross. After you have thoroughly enjoyed the incredible view of the National Park and the Arber, you can treat yourself to refreshment in the modern Falkenstein refuge. With new strength, you continue to hike to the wind throw adventure trail on the Ruckowitzberg. Here you can experience the traces that hurricane Kyrill left in 2007 up close. Passing countless fallen trees, the route continues across the wide meadows of the Ruckowitzschachten. Once again you have a great view over the treetops before you dive back into the forest. The Jägersteig leads you into the Mttelsteighütte primeval forest area with its ancient giant trees. Over gnarled roots and small rocks you get to the Zwieseler Waldhaus and finally back to the starting point at the Waldgasthof.
Super nice tour. Comes on my list of favorite tours.
