Hiking with a lost place feeling? No problem on the European cultural route "From the charm of the second row". Why second row? Because the banks of the Main are usually the typical destination for visitors. The small pearls "in the hinterland" are almost forgotten. The Kulturweg should change that.Starting in Theilheim, the path leads through the forest and over the motorway to the old Lützelfeld farm. Hardly anything here indicates a courtyard, but the walled enclosure of the Lützel spring in a depression is quite nice.Shortly afterwards, the historic Lindelbach quarry is reached - my personal highlight of the hike. You will be greeted by some goats who take care of the landscape maintenance and just look at visitors indifferently. A short detour to the quarry is a must. Because a small part is accessible and inspires every Lost Place fan with an old crane and other wonderfully rusted equipment.Lindelbach is soon reached along the vineyard. And on the other side of the valley, a spectacular view opens up to the distant Marienberg fortress. The former Jewish cemetery near Eibelstadt seems to consist of only one large tombstone. Unfortunately, the overgrown area was not accessible. Then it goes down to Eibelstadt, which is on the Main level. The path leads along the old city wall with its towers, which are well worth seeing, and then leaves the village in the direction of the vineyard. On the way back, the motorway is crossed by an underpass and after a sparse wooded area you will soon reach Theilheim again. Please visit my outdoor and travel blog hinter-dem-horizont.com
