The seventh stage of the Maarten van Rossumpad is a relatively short one. With 14.5 kilometers planned for today, you have plenty of time to take a look around you.The start of this stage will be in the Betuwe, in Lienden to be precise. From Lienden you walk towards Kesteren, from where you have a good view of the fifty meter high Grebbeberg on the other side of the Lower Rhine. From here you follow the course of the river and look across the open land to the river ships that come and go here. You sail with the ferry from Opheusden.Across the street you will pass the Blue Room, a riverside reserve. At high tide, the Rhine overflows in this area, making it a paradise for birds. You can see cormorants and kingfishers here. Then you make a sharp turn to the east and you can already see Wageningen in the distance. That is the end of today's stage.
