The weather was fantastic and ideal for hiking. Apart from that, I just had to go out on my own again and get some distance from all the crap that is pouring in on me. What could be better than hiking alone?I was drawn to the "Liebliche Taubertal" with its LT circular routes. No. 17 laughed at me because of its easy accessibility and the route length of almost 17km. However, I didn't start the tour at the market square as usual, but rather at the Volksfestplatz, where you can park for free and without having to search for a long time. Thanks to the proximity to the hiking trail, the entire route is hardly longer. The first highlights await right at the beginning: the rose garden and the Japanese garden. Although it was already frosty, some roses are still in bloom. But almost all of them have some freezer burn ;-)After crossing the green of the golf course, the path leads up the Altenberg nature reserve and back down again shortly before Igersheim. I would have liked to have eaten something in town, but unfortunately you don't have a chance on a lock-down Sunday. With a view of Neuhaus Castle, the neighboring town of Markelsheim is quickly reached, which I remember fondly from last year: the night in the wine barrel above the vineyard was unforgettable!Different views alternate before the path slowly leads back into the valley. You will soon reach Bad Mergentheim, which will delight you with its small but enchanting old town. You go through the grounds of the Teutonic Order Castle through the castle park to the spa park and you are back at the car park. Please visit my outdoor and travel blog hinter-dem-horizont.com
