One of 13 tour sections around my hometown Wuppertal. The total length of the routes is approx. 104 km. With the kind permission of the Sauerland Mountain Association Dept. Wuppertal, taken from the book "Hiking in Wuppertal" (ISBN 978-3-00-064869-4).Note: I have transferred the tours to Komoot as best I can. When in doubt, always follow the Ⓦ sign (capital W in a circle). Have fun hiking!
Today we started the penultimate stage in brilliant autumn sunshine. The Arboretum Burgholz is a fascinating forest area with a very special atmosphere. This forest made a completely different impression on me than the previous ones: the large amount of dead wood and the most diverse tree species have a special effect. In between there are paths in complete silence, and I was particularly impressed by the sections along the Burgholzbach stream flowing in its natural bed. Towards the end of the tour it gets a little livelier, the paths are well developed and therefore also suitable for a classic family excursion (which is very welcome, don't get it wrong). All in all another highlight "All around Wuppertal".
