  • The São Lorenço peninsula is a unique natural area in Madeira. Due to the low altitude and the exposed location in the very east of the island there is hardly any precipitation here. As a result, only little vegetation grows here. While the meadows in spring are still green and interspersed with blooming

  • It is a beautiful way, but by no means easily accessible! I missed my mountain boots very much. In my opinion, the route earns the name heavy.

  • A must for every Madeira visitor. Sturdy shoes are advisable and I think you should plan more time because the paths are sometimes narrow and views are terrific.

  • A great "circular hike" with spectacular views and insights into the volcanic history of Madeira. Easy to walk in winter too.

  • Highly recommended in winter, then the green is a feast for the eyes.

  • Was a very nice tour. But then we drove back from Casa do Sardinha by boat from the water also very worth seeing and walked about 15 minutes to the parking lot

  • A wonderful tour, the bizarre rocky coast is impressive. My video about the tour:

  • Join Ostwind, that was just as nice as it was exhausting! I had mountain boots and also a large sun hat, both of which were very useful. The sun was extremely blazing (while it was cloudy everywhere else in Madeira), there was no shade on the track and the Casa do Sardinha was closed too. Bring lots

  • Beautiful hike, not 2 hours but more like 4 hours long. Hiking shoes are a MUST, and don't forget sunscreen! There were also crowds of people milling about in front of the entrance and the parking situation was also difficult.

We had to park about 1.5km away from the entrance, where check-in was done
