Breathe wideDeep valleys, bright clearings, plateaus with surprising views: hiking in the Franconian Forest opens up unexpected horizons for the eyes and soul! In the face of the greatness of nature, our everyday fears and worries become void and small. We breathe space and find ourselves. It is an open country here on the eastern edge of the Franconian Forest! The view sweeps far over the busy fields and is rarely obstructed by groups of trees. Even if you walk briefly through dense forest along our "Eisenpark-Weg", the view is all the more beautiful afterwards!
It's not just agriculture that catches your eye while hiking: At Hadermannsgrün, the quarry is still being used diligently. In contrast, the slate heaps near Eisenbühl are only historical evidence. But not only slate was mined here: In the Middle Ages an iron mine gave the miners their livelihood, the name Eisenbühl is no coincidence!
For several years now, iron has played a role here again, albeit in a completely new way: bizarre sculptures await visitors in the Einsenpark art garden, oversized works of art made of heavy steel. Some things are abstract, in others mythical figures or models from nature can be recognized. As strange as these imaginative figures appear at first glance, these new residents have long been a part of the Eisenbühler!
