The tour starts in the northwest direction and thus in the direction of Aachen. Beautiful trails through the Hürtgen and the Rotterwald will inspire you, from time to time there is even something to marvel at. For example, in the "Kluckensteinen", an impressive array of rock pillars that were previously mined and whose remains are now protected as a natural monument. Or at the "Kartoffelbaum", where a kind of art to join in will definitely make you smile.A little later you not only roam the Dreilägertalsperre, but also the German-Belgian border and thus the Hohe Venn, an absolutely impressive high moor landscape. From here it goes gently uphill to 570 meters altitude, where once again a really great view of the surrounding area and on clear days to Aachen and the Rhenish lignite mining district waiting for you, before it goes back to the Hürtgenwald.
