Qualitätsweg Falladas Fridolinwanderung – Winterwandern in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
Comments
On this fairytale hike, around ten kilometers long, you walk through the Feldberg lake landscape and the youngest terminal moraine landscape in Germany. Here, the German writer Hans Fallada was inspired by clear lakes, pristine forests and the rich flora and fauna for his children's book about the cheeky badger Fridolin. On Fallada's Fridolin Hike, you follow his footsteps. With the regional train or the Intercity you can easily get to Neustrelitz. From here the bus 619 takes you to Feldberg, where the quality route starts at the Luzin ferry. There is a car park nearby. Since this is a round trip, you can of course start at any other point on the route. From the ferry pier you walk past an accessible moor and through a centuries-old forest. From a panoramic ridge you have a wonderful view of the Schmalen Luzin, which shines emerald-colored and is considered the most beautiful lake in the Feldberg lake landscape. Now you are walking down to the village of Carwitz. The house of Hans Falladas is in the idyllic place and it is also his last resting place. You can treat yourself to a delicious flatbread with fresh fish at the local fish shop. Then it goes on through the nature reserves Hauptmannsberg and Hullerbusch. From the steep bank the forest opens up again and again and reveals the shimmering Zansen. When you get back to Schmaler Luzin, take the Luzin ferry across to the other bank. Ferryman Tom operates one of the last hand-operated cable ferries in Europe with her. From November to April, however, a telephone arrangement with him on 0170-3070128 is required. Once you have crossed the water, you have already reached the end of the varied hike.
