The wonderful lighthouse path brings you to the national park area Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft with fairytale forests, white sandy beaches and meandering boardwalk paths. You walk through a unique dune landscape to the brick-red Darßer Ort lighthouse, the northernmost point on the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula. The train takes you comfortably to Ribnitz-Damgarten in Northern Pomerania. Here you get on the 210 bus and come to your starting point in Prerow. If you are traveling by car, you can park at the Bernsteinweg car park in Prerow. Here you dive directly into the unspoilt Darß forest, which opens after a few kilometers and reveals the view of the lighthouse in the secluded Darßer Ort. A climb to the lighthouse is worthwhile, because from its top at a height of 35 meters you have a fantastic view over the Baltic Sea and the surrounding forest. Then it's off to the beach. You can let your mind wander and simply enjoy the white sand under your feet or look down a little more carefully. With a little luck you will discover amber, chicken gods or even thunderbolts - all unique rocks made of petrified tree resins and fossils or decorated with holes that have been washed out. A few kilometers further a narrow path leads into a magical dune landscape. A boardwalk leads you through the wonderful landscape. Especially in autumn you can witness a truly unique natural spectacle here: then rutting deer come to the beach, wade through shallow water and their distinctive roaring can be heard over a long distance. We continue to the Darßer Ort emergency port. You cross the small, idyllic harbor over a footbridge. Directly behind it, the dunes offer a wide view of the Baltic Sea. On your way back along the soft beach, you can take your time and collect beautiful shells and other floating debris as souvenirs.
