The fifth stage on the Jura-Höhenweg has it all with its 1,140 meters of altitude. As a reward, after the crisp ascent to the Höllchöpfli, you can expect a promising high-altitude hike through forests and pastures. The starting point of the almost 21-kilometer route is in Balsthal. The climb goes straight to the top and gets your circulation going. You've earned a refreshment at Berggasthof Schwengimatt. From here it's not far to the ridge on the Höllchöpfli. Once at the top, there is an overwhelming panorama over the Swiss Alps and the entire Swiss Plateau. Every meter of altitude was worth it.Now it goes on with pleasure: Over narrow forest paths, ridges and pastures you continue to hike on the high path. On the way you will pass other fantastic viewpoints and cozy alpine huts that provide you with regional dishes. The fifth stage on the Jura-Höhenweg has it all with its 1,140 meters of altitude. The ridge counts as the local mountain of the city of Solothurn. When the visibility is good, you can end your hike from Säntis to Mont Blanc. With the Weissenstein cable car you can then take a relaxed gondola into the valley to Solothurn, where you can look for accommodation for the night.
