Pro mountain biker David Cachon shows us one of the most unreal landscapes in Spain: The Bardenas Reales. His tour takes you through the rocky semi-desert in the autonomous region of Navarre, high up in the north of Spain. You start at the small reservoir Embalse del Ferial on a gravel road that takes you directly into the national park. The paths get narrower and narrower until you finally find yourself in an unreal desert landscape that inspires you with bizarre rock formations, deep gorges and moon-like rock formations. The highlight of the route is the legendary “Deer Pass”, a curvy trail through one of the canyons, on which you drive between eroded, almost undulating gray rock faces.Tips:The starting point of the tour is around 40 kilometers from the small town of Tudela and around 70 kilometers from the capital of Navarre, Pamplona. From there it is a great day trip. Just remember to take enough provisions with you, because you won't have any shopping opportunities on the way.
