From Beckstein we start climbing towards Lauda through the vineyards and the sun can be seen. The last few kilometers on the flat bike path to Wertheim lead to Tauberbischofsheim. The castle and numerous Renaissance houses are in the old town. The Tauberbischofsheimer Rathaus is one of the few in southern Germany that was built in a neo-Gothic style. The last stage on the Tauber bike path ends after a picturesque forest and meadow landscape in Wertheim, where the Tauber flows into the Main. On the way we make a detour to the Bronnbach monastery with orangery and the herb garden. From Wertheim we then follow the Main cycle path. The 527 km long Main is the only river in Europe that flows in all four directions. Wertheim is the northernmost city of Baden-Württemberg and is located in the northwest of the Main-Tauber district at the confluence of the Tauber and the Main, at the foothills of the Odenwald and the Spessart on the other side of the Main. Wertheim Castle, the town's landmark, was partially destroyed by a powder explosion in 1619 and in the Thirty Years War in 1634, and was never rebuilt. The destination of the stage is the wine town of Homburg am Main with the castle on a tuff rock.
