This circular hike impresses with its quiet forest areas and wonderful views over the vineyards to the Moselle. It is worth stopping at the various resting and viewing areas and enjoying. The starting point of the Himmelreich hike is the “An der Traver Ruh” hiking car park. You walk a short distance along Schanzenstraße in the direction of the Schäferei district before you turn right into the forest. On easily accessible forest paths, you hike through the beautiful autumn forest and over the colorful leaves that are already on the ground. The route initially climbs slightly and then loses altitude again. After two and a half kilometers, the trees thin out and you can enjoy a magical view of the Moselle valley. A little later, the rest area "Auf’m Hahn" invites you to take a break with foresight.Rested, you continue through the colorful autumn forest and after half of the route the forest path changes to a vineyard path. Along the slope edge you hike high above the Moselle through the picturesque landscape. Back in the Schäferei district, it is worth stopping at the Philipps-Eckstein winegrowing business before starting the last ascent through Schanzenstrasse back to the hiking car park. Not far from the parking lot there is a nice vantage point called “Traver Kupp” for a final panorama.
