The name already suggests: In the Goldbachtal, the valuable precious metal used to be dug, but only a few found it. The gold fountain in the center of Andel and rest areas at former gold panning sites are a reminder of this time. You start on the banks of the Moselle, where a small lighthouse gives you that North Sea feeling. In the center of Andel you will pass the gold digger fountain and the Andeler church. Following the forest road, you reach the outskirts and from there walk along the edge of the forest. The path begins to rise more and more and soon you can hear the Goldbach babbling. Surrounded by colorful mixed forests, you always walk along the stream, where different resting places by the water invite you to take a break.Near the source of the Goldbach you have reached the highest point of the hike and turn sharply left. The path meanders through the forest and brings you to Wilhelmshöhe, where an incredible view of the Moselle valley awaits you. Under a roof made of colorful leaves you march on to the Andeler refuge. Here, too, you can enjoy beautiful distant views. From the meadow at the refuge, a small path leads you to the intersection of forest and vineyards. The lower course of the Goldbach accompanies you back to Andel.
