A long tough day on the bike. Skirting around the M60 taking in some farm gravel paths, bridleways, towpaths, mud, gravel and a bit of tarmac to link it all up. On the plus side, you're never too far from the city centre should it all get a bit too much and train stations are aplenty if you're really knackered! Suggest starting from Chorlton or if in town picking route up by cycling through Drinkwater park.
