Two monasteries, wonderful views and a colorful mixed forest characterize the approximately 13 kilometer long monastery path between Machern and Siebenborn. In both places, hiking-friendly refreshment stops await you and the changing views of the Lieser and Moselle valleys make this round tour so special. You start at the Machern Monastery, which you can visit at the beginning or at the end of your hike. The toy and icon museum is well worth a visit, and home-brewed beer is served in the restaurant. The partly steep ascent up to the Trinity refuge begins at the monastery. There you leave the forest, which is fantastically colorful in autumn, and hike down a panoramic vineyard path into the Liesertal, where the Klosterhof Siebenborn awaits you. There is a winery in the magnificent building and you can quench your thirst and hunger in the neighboring monastery mill. Then the path above the Lieser runs slightly uphill and leads you back into the forest. It continues uphill on soft forest paths. At the Grainskopf you can climb the twelve meter high observation tower to enjoy a fantastic view of the Moselle valley. Straight ahead you get back to the Trinity, from where you hike back to the Machern Monastery on the already known path.
