This tour takes you through the beautiful Blenio Valley. The multitude of historical and cultural treasures in the region make this excursion a pleasure tour, which is also suitable for MTB beginners due to its low incline. On the way you pass many small villages where you can discover the history of this Ticino region. You start in Olivone and first pedal towards Biasca. As soon as you have left the center of Ponto Aquilesco and the village of Aquila behind you, you will pass the impressive Cima Norma - a former chocolate factory. Today the magnificent building is a listed building and can even be visited. We continue with a short ascent to the hill on which the Castello di Curterio was located. A place steeped in history: This is where the Patto di Torre was closed in 1182, with which the districts of Blenio and Leventina sealed their independence from Milan in writing. Then you will reach Lottigna, where you can visit the informative Museo di Blenio. From here you roll downhill to the Terme di Acquarossa, which is one of the well-known Swiss cultural sites. The wonderfully beautiful and historical street of the Satro leads you to Dongio. On the way you can marvel at various grottos and vineyards, which are conveniently visible to the naked eye from a mountain bike. This also includes the Casa die Pagani, an old fortification in the rocks of the Blenio Valley. You cycle on from Motto to Malvaglia, on the last section of this tour. This leads behind Malvaglia through the Leguina, a nationally important river plain.
