The easy day tour is ideal as a family hike. The 10-kilometer route leads from Leutasch through the Gaistal, which lies nestled between the imposing rock walls of the Mieminger Mountains in the south and the Wetterstein massif in the north. Picturesque alpine meadows and sparse larch and mixed forests complete the idyllic landscape panorama. The Gaistalalm or the Tillfussalm invite you to stop for a bite to eat: on both alpine pastures, hikers are spoiled with delicious Tyrolean home-style cooking. The hike begins at the Salzbachbrücke car park in Leutasch. Here you follow the signs Gaistalalm and Tillfussalm into Gaistal. In the valley, you hike on a track and turn off after about 300 meters on the Ganghoferweg. Here it is now a little bit steeper up, but already a little later gently rising along meadows below the Hämmermoosalm over in a light forest. Here you cross the Leitenbach and reach the Gaistalalm. In the same direction you follow the path over alpine meadows on to the Tillfussalm. The way back leads you first over a short distance down to the main path to Gaistal. Then you hike out of the valley on a wide forest road until you arrive back at the starting point.
