At first it is still difficult to part with Biberach with its beautiful market place ensemble, which the eye cannot get enough of - but the onward journey is worthwhile. So today you can look forward to magnificent natural passages that will guide you safely to Bad Waldsee.Ummendorf and Fischbach are the first stops on the stage. In Ummendorf the beautiful Renaissance castle is impressive and the swimming lakes invite you to take a break. Then the first steep ascent extends to a height of 640 meters. A grandiose view and an exhilarating descent are the reward. With an undulating elevation profile, it goes through the municipality of Eberhardzell with its baroque town hall and finally through open summer meadows and green forest landscapes. The path begins to climb gently along the Haisterkircher ridge. In the east, the forest area of the Haisterkircher ridge is bordered by the Wurzacher Ried nature reserve, whose moors are absolutely worth seeing.Otherwise you roll down to Bad Waldsee, which is located in the middle of two small lakes. The historic old town exudes a nostalgic charm with its inviting squares, the town hall completed in 1426 and the Heilig-Geist-Spital. In 1956, today's Kneipp health resort was given the title of “mud spa”. The heart of the health oasis is the Waldsee Therme. The thermal water, which contains fluoride and sulfur, is the best prerequisite for a relaxing stay to wake up tired cyclists' legs again. As an overnight option, we recommend the bike-friendly accommodations Stadthotel Grüner Baum, Landgasthof Kreuz and Gästehaus Rössle. You can find more information about the second stage at oberschwaben-tourismus.de/touren/donau-bodensee-radweg-etappe-2-von-biberach-nach-bad-waldsee-45168da63c.
