On this imposing high-altitude hike, you wander past places steeped in history, gurgling mountain streams and a variety of flowers. With the Pizolbahn you can comfortably get to the starting point Gaffia. Along the gurgling mountain stream you take the first slope to Chrutplangg. To the south you can admire the striking Gamidaurspitz. In the 18th century, the people of Wangser made a pilgrimage to the Gamidaurspitz with cross and flags to escape the plague raging in the Sarganserland. At Basürla you branch off and after a short ascent you reach the Garmil, which rewards you with a wonderful panoramic view. The descent takes you to Fürggli, where you branch off towards the Furt. The zigzag path leads down to Vollenplangg and Fälli, both of which belong to Alp Mugg. On the last ascent, you can enjoy the wonderful view of the St.Gallen Rhine Valley again, before you reach the wayside shrine of holy brother Klaus. A short time later you are on the ford, an intermediate station of the Pizolbahn and can go back to the valley with great impressions in your luggage.
