The southeast loop of Route 31 leads mostly through small villages and rural areas over dirt roads and unpaved ground. You can ride the tour well with normal trekking bikes or mountain bikes.On the way, a manor, a castle and the Lobmachtersen water tower are waiting to be discovered by you, as is the small but fine St. Mary's Church. The focus, however, is on an undisturbed experience of nature.A worthwhile detour is the Heerter See, which can be easily circled on foot. The lake is an important bird sanctuary. Two viewing huts invite you to observe the abundant bird life.
