Nice ride Giuseppe! Challenging? From some photos it seemed hard ...

    Hello Claudio and thank you!
The climb is all there and you can feel it, but up to about Claudranza you have all asphalt and in my opinion you do it easily (and getting there is worth the effort already); after the bottom it becomes challenging up to the top of Joanaz (stones), but in my opinion, with your mountain you go along it and you arrive at a panoramic clearing almost at the top (great panorama). If you really want to get to the top (at km 17) I suggest you proceed on foot for the last 100 meters (there the vegetation covers the panorama). In the descent you have some technical stretches, but in my opinion if you go cautious you have no problems (maybe you walk a few tens of meters, but nothing special). After Montefosca, the view over the Natisone Valley and the Matajur is spectacular. The last piece (from Goregnavaz) is all asphalt.
I hope you have been of help!

Hi Giuseppe, Mount Joanaz is a tour that has been planned for a while. Probably this year I will not make it but given the photos and the description I am even more convinced that it is worth it. Thanks and congratulations 👍👋

    Hi Daniele and thank you!
Yes, the Joanaz is much more "mountain" than its (unremarkable) height suggests ... both in the views and in the places and paths crossed!
