After a winding, gentle climb through the forest to the dam wall, the majority of the circular route around the Hasper dam runs relatively flat, about 20 - 30 meters above the lake. The fact that you walk so high above the water and it goes up partly steeply next to the path, you get a really nice "mountain world feeling". The sun shines on you (as it is there) due to its location on the slope much more often than other dams in the face.In addition, the Hasper dam also exudes a little romantic flair: couples in love more and more often choose the railing of the dam to place a symbolic sign of their love with a padlock. Otherwise, walkers, joggers and cyclists alike romp around on the beautiful circular route, on which "benches with a view" are regularly invited to take a break. The tram used to run almost to the dam - today it can only be reached by car. You can park your car in the parking lot at Café Restaurant "Plessen", which invites you on your terrace for a break afterwards with coffee, cake and cold drinks.

If you're lucky, you can spot kingfishers at the end of the dam (opposite the reservoir) opposite the dam. In flight, the small birds are well recognized by the blue plumage. Do not forget to take binoculars!
