The Wolfsklamm lives up to its name: the water that pounds through the rock faces here with full force inspires respect. Overall, the hike through the water gorge near Stans in the Inn Valley is easy to walk and not too long - an unforgettable experience for the whole family.It starts in the heart of Stans. A signposted path leads you from the visitor parking lot directly into the impressive gorge. The path starts leisurely, but soon increases. A total of 354 gorge steps have to be mastered on the nearly seven-kilometer round tour. The (safe) proximity to the water and the spectacular rock formations ensure that you don't really notice it. With the last step you finally reach a calm stream bed and thus the perfect place for a break or to cool off your stressed legs in the freezing cold water.It follows a short stretch through sparse forest. Then the look up - it reveals the St. Georgenberg monastery enthroned on the rock. The oldest place of pilgrimage in Tyrol is now home to a rustic inn, where delicacies from the region are served. But the strengthening has to be deserved: It's uphill a bit, then you have to pass a wooden bridge to reach the monastery. The way back is first on the same path as on the ascent, at the crossroads then over the bridge and finally following a wide pilgrim path to the starting point.
