In the hunt for game and in search of wild berries, primeval people covered several thousand steps a day. This tour through the Neandertal brings you on their tracks and provides your points account with a whopping 30,000 steps. You can reach the starting point Hochdahl-Millrath from Cologne in less than an hour. Past the picturesque mill pond, you hike deep into the idyllic Neandertal, where the bones of an extinct human species were found.At the Neandertal train station, you can get on the train after a good 21,000 steps, or you can do the entire loop over the Neandertal wildlife park back to the starting point.
