Soothing air, irresistible half-timbered charm and magnificent views await you on this almost twelve and a half kilometer tour around the gold village of Holthausen. It starts right in the heart of the village. The path, which is based entirely on the golden G, first takes you to the edge of the picturesque town of Bad Fredeburg. In addition to its traditional buildings, the climatic health resort also has a Kneipp spa where you can refresh yourself if you want. Past North Rhine-Westphalia's last active slate mine, the Magog mine, and once you walk through the lovely little village of Huxel, the area slowly begins to turn really green. The route soon leads you south in a leisurely up and down direction: You always hike towards Niedersorpe and along the well-tended 27-hole golf course of the Schmallenberg Golf Club. Before you know it, you'll be right in the middle of your destination, Holthausen.
