Did you know that Löb Strauss, better known as Levi Strauss, was Franke? The inventor of the popular jeans was born in Buttenheim. In the village southeast of Bamberg, a museum commemorates the city's famous son. On this almost 16-kilometer hike you will find out more about the world-famous Franconia and also enjoy the beautiful landscape around Buttenheim. The tour starts at the local train station, which you can easily reach with the S1 from Bamberg. After a little dangling through the village, you run towards Senftenberg. In the rock cellar there you can take a promising break, let your gaze wander over the landscape and enjoy a hearty beer. Right next to it you will find the Senftenberg Chapel, which is worth a short detour. Then it goes back to Buttenheim, where you can visit the birthplace of Levi Strauss at the end. In the museum you can find out more about the exiled Franconian and the history of his cult trousers. From here it is not far until you reach the train station again.
