Dinkelsbühl planned a hike.
August 21, 2020
Fantastic views, gently rolling hills, shimmering waters and flowering meadows characterize this varied circular route west of Dinkelsbühl. In addition to so much nature, you will also pass some historical highlights such as the St. Ulrich Chapel and the Segringer Cemetery. From the starting point at the Altrathausplatz bus stop, it goes straight to the south, past the Nördlinger Tor and out into the wide landscape. You will roam the nature reserve Walk- and Gaisweiher and with a bit of luck you can watch some water birds with their busy activities. Over a slight hill you reach the Ortisei chapel, where a hermit once lived and enjoyed the wonderful view.Via Hasselbach, Langensteinbach and Unterwinstetten you walk sometimes over fields, sometimes through small forest areas. At the cemetery in Segringen you can convince yourself of its uniqueness. This consists in the fact that all tombs with the so-called Segringer cross with gold leaf font represent a uniform picture. It is not clear why this is so.The last kilometers lead you past the Reichertsmühle and through the Segringer Tor back to the old town, where numerous restaurants beckon for a hearty stop.
