Day 6 is our longest day on our 9-day hike on the Heidschnuckenweg. We first hike on stage 7 from Soltau to Wietzendorf. Afterwards, stage 8 continues from Wietzendorf to Müden (Örtze). It starts with a beautiful path through the Große Auen followed by a forest path up into the Weiher Mountains. At the "summit" there we reach a pile of stones. There the hiker is invited to symbolically place a stone on the pile of stones for all his worries, grief and pain. After 6 km the picture suddenly changes and we have to walk 1.8 km along the edge of a country road that is fortunately little traveled. Anyone who, like us, asks what this is supposed to mean, receives the answer after a few hundred meters: the artillery firing position no. 33 is on our right all the time ... ok, we don't want to go through there. Then it goes mainly on wide paths along fields and through some forest passages, past Henneken's sheepfold with its over 200 year old sloping spruce, through the Wittenmoor, the Katzenmoor with its very beautiful water treading area to Wietzendorf. On our second stage we go again along fields and through smaller forest passages to the small heather area on the Häteler Berg and past the artillery firing position No. 21, before we reach the Südheide Nature Park after just 25 km.From here the hike becomes much nicer and more interesting again, because at the end of this stage we still cross the beautiful heathland on Wietzer Berg with the Löns Stein and the Hermann Löns monument, before this day in the tranquil village of Müden (Örtze) with the St. Laurentinus Church ends.Highlights of "Stage 7 - Landscape for the Soul"
    - Along the Great Aue,
    - Weiher Berge,
    - Koenigsberg
Highlights of "Stage 8 - Postcard idyll times two"
    - Wietzer Berg with Lönsstein,
    - Heideort Müden (Örtze),
    - St. Laurentinus Church,
    - Heidesee,
    - Müden Wildlife Park

That with the pile of stones is a great idea 👍🏼
I find the play of light in picture 46/47 fascinating! You don't see that too often. All the best for the rest of the way 😊
