The beautiful old town of Forchheim is definitely worth a long walk. The historical half-timbered houses outdo each other in their beauty and the city wall gives you a glimpse into the past. You start your journey through the history of Forchheim at the Rathausplatz. This is only one kilometer from the train station.The Sattlertorstraße takes you to the city park, where you climb stairs to the historic fortification. Along the city wall you go north, where you cross Sattlertorstraße again to get back up to the city park on the other side. From there it goes on to Wiesent, on whose bank the impressive Katharinenspital stands. Part of the building is built over the river and stands on stone pillars in the water.You walk past the "Leaning House" parallel to the Wiesent. Then you cross the water again to get to the market square and parade square. At the end of your tour, stroll between shops and cafés through the main street back to Rathausplatz. Your city visit is rounded off in one of the numerous traditional restaurants with a Franconian meal and a Seidla.
