The comfortable loop D of the Bayreuth Cycle Ring takes you from the city to the countryside and back again. The start is at Luitpoldplatz, where the Red Main disappears briefly under the earth. You drive up a small hill to the festival hall. In the house, known far beyond the borders of Germany, everything revolves around the works of Richard Wagner. It is best to take the time to get to know the unique building during a guided tour. You cycle around the festival hall and leave the city in the direction of Bindlach. There you can make a short detour to the town center with its pretty church and the small, chic green area.It continues to Lindig to the Lohengrin-Therme and down to the Red Main. If you have the time and inclination, you can turn right after the bridge and drive to the Hermitage. The path then leads you via Grünau to the Red Main, on the banks of which you drive back to the center.
