A beautiful half-day hike with foresight and a stop leads from Forchheim to the Retterner Kanzel. The round begins at the parking lot near the Kellerwald or at the Forchheim train station - from there it's one and a half kilometers to the starting point of the hike. First you walk past the beer gardens through the forest until you come to a clearing where you cross the Serlbach district. At the northern end of the clearing you dive back into the forest and soon pass a small pond. Now you stay close to the edge of the forest and can catch a beautiful view of the wide landscape through the trees again and again. Then the slope increases and it is a crisp uphill to the Retterner Kanzel. Above you can take a detour to the viewpoint between the rocks. The altitude meters are rewarded with a wonderful view. The subsequent descent is to the east via Oberweilersbach to Weilersbach, where there is a beautiful pilgrimage church to visit. Now there is a small ascent up to a picturesque chapel before you find your way through the forest back to the beer cellars of Forchheim.
